2013 Scion FR-S Autocross Handling Challenge

( www.TFLcar.com ) The 2013 Scion FR-S is one of the best handling new cars to hit the market. It has a low center of gravity that makes for a very neutral car when it comes to balance. In other words, the 2013 Scion FR-S is an easy car to control. In this video we find out just how well balanced the 2013 Scion FR-S can be when we put it on an autocross course to see just how fast it can carry a corner without killing a cone.

First run out of 5 on 4/1/2012 autocross. Got a 45.968 on this run and lowered it by 5 sec. in my 5th and final run with at 40.853. Recorded with GoPro Camera. Placed 15th out of 55 in PAX and 25th out of 55 in Raw Time.

This was at a TAMSSC “test and tune” autocross. I lost the back end and went pretty sideways all the way through the turn at the middle. I loved that car, it was truely a go-kart with 235whp at just over 2300lbs.
Finally dug up this old clip of my first WRX with me Autocrossing when I owned it. I managed to win my class that season

(I had done autocross here once before maybe a year ago) Even with track experience, autocross is a completely different experience. The car is constantly being tossed around, and with stock suspension and my daily driver tires (which are apparently almost dead), my car feels like a cow in a shopping cart. Not sure if I’m going to try to compete in Tire class or in ASP. I’ll probably double enter so I get double the runs and more experience.
