I’ve always loved cars growing up and dreamed about becoming a race car driver. This is year I made that dream become my reality. I bought a track ready miata and had a LOT of fun doing HPDEs (High Performance Driving Events). Time: 42.95 sec. First time at an auto cross. Did pretty well considering I only have about 110-115whp and same on torque. Original engine with 271581 miles on it. Just intake, headers and exhaust. Except for a couple of civics everyone had more HP than I did. The fastest cars of the day were running between 38 – 41 sec. Driving was difficult with the stock steering (3.2 lock to lock) and lack of power. Also my tach was not working.
