NASA Spec Miata at Thunderhilll 08-14-2011. Had a terrible qualifying session and started 17th. We had 2 aborted starts, apparently the Spec E30 wave couldn’t figure out how to do a proper standing start. The SM start was a bit of a mess as the leaders kept accelerating and then checked up just before the green. Made up a few spots and ended up 11th.

Soren of Miata Specialists offered me a go in one of his spec Miata race cars. It was my first time driving a momentum car at the track and he coached me a bit on the line, and how to control a vehicle that doesn’t have more than enough power – unlike the Z06 that I normally track.

2012 Sebring Double National Spec Miata SCCA Race 1 – Leverone gets a BIG TIME shuffle!!!

Nick Leverone from Flat Out Racing gets shown no respect in Race 1 at Sebring. In lap 3 at Turn 10, Nick gets shuffled back from 3rd spot all the way to 8th place. Racing in the SE Division is pretty intense!!! Drivers featured…. Todd Buras, Craig Berry, Jim Drago, Andrew Charbonneau, Pat Sandlin, Danny Steyn, Alex Bolanos and Nick Leverone PS Nick We love you – please keep on coming back with your crew!
This was my first on-track experience in a race car… fun stuff! Sorry for the crapy quality, my dad was fliming -_-
This is my second Spec Miata Race. I started in last place (23rd) after a DNF on Saturday. I finished 7th after passing 16 cars. You will see hand signals between myself and other drivers showing how we work together to catch up to the next group of cars. I can’t think of a better way to practice race craft. Thanks to Rush Motorsports for a very capable car.
This was my first Spec Miata race. I started 5th and got a great start but lost several positions when the leader I was bump drafting forgot to shift to 5th gear. I managed to make my way back to 3rd place but I flat spotted the tire in the process. This ultimately lead to the flat tire that ended my race. Watch how the lead drivers hook-up together to run away on the banking.

Sebring – PBOC Winterfest 6hr Enduro – Spec Miata

This is a lap near the end of my second stint. I pass 4 competitors in my class in just a little over 1 lap. Our team made the podium for 2nd Mazda Overall. We were also the 1st place Spec Miata (10 entries) and finished 15th overall out of a field of 49. Thank you Cawley Motorsports for providing this amazing Spec Miata and to my great co-drivers Keith Bass and Jon Miller.
