SCCA Group 17 Spec Miata race on September 4th, 2011 @ Infineon Raceway. This was the second Spec Miata race of the weekend. On board with car #20: Andrew Holifield. My 3rd and final race of the weekend. This one was a total blast: much smoother & controlled all around the track. I had my line pretty much nailed down and cruised through the back of the field. The start was a bit fast (and stretched out) I was in the back of the pack and expected to get way slowed down into T-11 (like the other races) but instead pretty much started my race in T-7.

My first Spec Miata race win. They inverted the top 10 after qualifying placing me 6th on the grid for the race. Great racing with Kyle Loustaunau and Phillip Holifield. Almost threw it away being defensive…..

Saturday afternoon race at Inde Motorsport Ranch… SCCA Quad Regional Race #6 in the Saguaro Series. Driving a 1990 Spec Miata in Race Group 1, including Spec7 and Spec 944. Had a great battle with Josh, as well as a few “oopsee” moments… but managed to hang on for a win.

Thank you to Mike Collins, Ted Cahill and all of Meathead racing. We had a great time racing a SM at the SCCA’s NEOHIO Firecracker National July 2-3, 2011. Here’s a lap around Nelson Ledges. I was a few seconds off the pole time, but had a great time at what is a pretty quick little two mile track.
