Spec Miata Exhaust, straight pipe (2) mazda comp
2 Comments | Posted by admin in club racing
1995 Mazda MX-5, miata with straight pipe Mazda competition exhaust (bosal exhaust spce miata exhaust). Car is being prapared for track racing. The motor is stock, instalation of the exhaust was simple. The great thing about this exhaust is that is is light weight. Performance, well the car revs easy and I think the biggest gain is the loss of weight. The exhaust may have givin’ the car a little bit of a boost, mainly the th exhaust maintains enough back pressure when installed correstly. No exhaust leaks where we checked, the engine revs happy. The second video has the exhaust sound.

When I’m not busy working on music, I occasionally take my Miata out to the racetrack. Here’s some of the laps from my June 2010 race at Buttonwillow Raceway. Out of 17 cars, I started 13th and finished 11th. Not too bad for a terrible race car driver! baddriverracing.com

When I’m not busy writing and recording music, I am lucky enough to be able to race. I didn’t get out to the race track much last year (only once) but am trying to do a lot more racing this year. Here’s some highlights (and lowlights) from my race at Buttonwillow Raceway Park in Buttonwillow, California, on June 26, 2011. It’s been almost a year since I’ve been on a racetrack! Was glad to be out to Auto Club Speedway this past weekend for some fun in my spec miata. With some drafting help from John MI qualified 6th out of 16 cars. In the race I made some dumb mistakes and lost a few positions, but overall it was a ton of fun. Finished 10th! Here are some highlights.

How To Change Brake Rotors and Pads, 1994 Spec Miata (1990-2004)

After several days at the track, the pads (Carbotech XP-10) had worn down to less than 0.125 inches and it was time to change them. The rotors were old so decided to change them too. Ordered them from SafeRacer.com. Installation only takes 15 minutes per wheel if you have everything ready.

Maybe, just maybe I’m not quite as bad a race car driver as I used to be! SCCA spec miata race at Buttonwillow Raceway, March 27, 2011. This track has multiple configurations— this configuration is 25 CW (clockwise). stateshirt.com
This was a very fast course. It oversteers a lot, but it’s very controllable!
