Autocrossing my 68 El Camino at the Midwest City Sheriff’s track. This is my 1st run. I kinda lost it about halfway through. Lots of fun though.

Koninginnedag en de autocross op het circuit van Wolsum. Het zijn voor de ware crossliefhebber synoniemen. Er werd gecrost in verschillende klassen en categorieën. En dat op het mooiste circuit van Friesland. Een dikke tegenvaller voor de eigenaar van de Patatkraam op het crossterrein. De snackmobiel ging volledig in vlammen op. Even na halfzes werd de brandweer van Bolsward gealarmeerd. Ook gingen ambulances van Sneek naar het overvolle crossterrein. De autocross werd tijdelijk stilgelegd omdat de rookwolken over de crossbaan trokken. Drie cateringmedewerksters raakten gewond. Het trio werd per ambulance overgebracht naar het ziekenhuis in Sneek. Twee van hen mochten na behandeling het ziekenhuis verlaten. Het derde slachtoffer werd later op de dag per ambulance overgebracht naar het brandwondencentrum van het Martini ziekenhuis in Groningen. In de brandende patatkraam stonden 4 gasflessen. Er werd daarom rekening gehouden met explosiegevaar. Na het blussen werden de gasflessen uit de kraam gehaald om te worden gekoeld en kon de autocross worden uitgereden.

This is me autocrossing my 1968 El Camino for the first time at the Midwest City Sheriff’s practice track hosted by the BMW club of Oklahoma City. I was fairly impress by my results, thanks to the full Hotchkis sway bar kit. Tons of fun and good people.

This is the first time I’ve ever witnessed an accident at a speed ventures autocross. It was a pretty fast track and it was his first time up since his last break so the tires were pretty cold & so was the track. The driver was shaken up quite a bit, but he walked away.
