SpeedVentures HPDE at Buttonwillow on Jan 28, 2012. Two of my laps from Blue group (low intermediate), session 2. My third lap (2nd lap in this clip) was about 2:21.6, which is not that fast. (For my car, a 2:12 would be considered pretty fast, and a good driver in a Spec Miata might do about 2:07.)

Our version of a “Pro-Celebrity” race. With the Top 3 giving a 20 second gap to the main field. Its pretty calm for the 1st half, then it gets a little crazy! HIGHLIGHTS: 19:23, Westmoreland tries a CRAZY pass 19:55, Westmoreland put 3 tires off the track 21:33, Westmoreland’s 2-for-1 deal 28:58, Last lap 30:05, my crazy last lap pass attempt 30:57, side by side coming to the finish

When I’m not busy working on music, I occasionally take my Miata out to the racetrack. Here’s some of the laps from my June 2010 race at Buttonwillow Raceway. Out of 17 cars, I started 13th and finished 11th. Not too bad for a terrible race car driver! baddriverracing.com

When I’m not busy working on music, I occasionally take my Miata out to the racetrack. Qualified 8th out of 21 cars and finished 5th!! This is the first time I’ve had contact on a race track. Someone up front missed a shift and we all bunched up. I tried to get the car stopped but didn’t really have anywhere to go. Neck is sore, car has a bent frame (in front of the front suspension). After spending some time removing some bent brackets and broken plastic bits, it does look like it will live to see another race day.
